Get Silky Smooth Skin Naturally: 4 Tips to Improve Skin Texture

Introduction:

In our quest for the perfect complexion (which who even wants anyway), most of us have probably tried just about every skincare product and treatment out there. But what if we told you that the answer to smoother, softer skin was something as simple as changing your skincare routine? It’s true! There are a few things you can do to improve skin texture and achieve healthy, youthful skin without harsh chemicals or expensive procedures. Keep reading to find out how.

Exfoliate your skin

1. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is one of the best ways to improve skin texture. When you exfoliate, you remove the dead skin cells that are sitting on the surface of your skin. This makes way for new, healthy skin cells to come to the surface, giving your skin a smoother appearance. Exfoliating also helps unblock pores, which can improve acne and blackhead problems. There are two ways to exfoliate: physically and chemically. Physically exfoliating is done by using a scrub or a cloth to scrub the skin. Chemical exfoliation is done by using an acid or enzyme to break down the bonds that hold dead skin cells together. Both methods are effective, but you should use caution when using acids, as they can be harmful if used incorrectly.

If you're looking for a home made exfoliator, how does a Strawberry Body Exfoliator sound? Check out this recipe:

🍓4 tbsp of caster sugar
🍓1 tsp of coconut oil (liquid at room temperature)

Chop or quickly process the strawberries until very fine. Transfer to a bowl and mix with the sugar and coconut oil. Mix until the mixture is combined and the texture is consistent. Add to a jar and seal.

And now, that easily, you have a natural, home made body scrub.

2. Hydrate

One of the most important things you can do for your skin is to make sure it's hydrated. When skin is dry, it can become cracked and irritated, leading to a rough texture. Drink plenty of water and use a moisturiser every day to make sure your skin stays hydrated. If your skin is especially dry, you may need to apply moisturiser more than once a day.

Our Active Rosehip Day Cream is super hydrating as it contains Hyaluronic Acid which has the amazing ability to hold and retain more than a 1,000 times its own weight in water making it the perfect agent to plump, cushion and lubricate your skin.

3. Mask

One way to instantly improve your skin texture is to use a mask. There are all sorts of masks available on the market these days, but we recommend sticking to natural masks made from ingredients like clay, honey, and avocado. These ingredients are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that will nourish your skin and give you a gorgeous glow. Plus, they're easy to make yourself at home so you can customise them to your own needs so you can make sure to add face masks into your skincare routine a couple times a week!

4. Then rub in circular motions to exfoliate and increase blood-flow.
5. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

And there you go, smooth and healthy skin coming your way!

Balance
4. Balance

One of the most important things to keep in mind when trying to improve your skin texture is balance. Your skincare routine should be tailored to your specific needs, and finding the right balance is key. If you're using a product that's too harsh for your skin, it can actually make things worse. Be sure to read the ingredients list and do your research before selecting any products. Also, it's important to give your skin time to adjust to new products—don't expect miracles overnight! In order to improve your skin texture naturally, you need to be consistent with your routine and give your skin the love and care it deserves.

Ingredients to look for in skincare

You'll want to look for key ingredients like glycolic acid, lactic acid, retinol and vitamin C. These ingredients can help improve the appearance of skin texture by gently sloughing away the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Try out our Precious Facial Oil, which contains Bakuchiol, a plant-based alternative to retinol ideal for people who can’t use retinol due to pregnancy, sun sensitivity or irritation.
